Educational

In the world of academics, the discipline of simulation is increasingly being used in multiple fields of study. With simulations, students can test out and solve mathematical problems quickly and intuitively.

Modelling object-oriented systems is a giant leap forward in modelling systems intuitively. Instructors can use this potential, for example, to teach students how a hydraulic system works with basic principles. The students can subsequently improve, enlarge and transform the components depending on what they are studying.

Since its market release, a number of universities have been using EcosimPro to teach modelling and simulation techniques in a variety of areas: aerospace and aeronautical engineering, power plants, control, chemical engineering, etc. EcosimPro is well adapted to the education world for teaching the principles of mathematical modelling and for students writing their master's thesis or other academic works.

Moreover, EcosimPro can be used as a pure equations solver. It is able to solve linear, non-linear and differential-algebraic equation systems, it is a step forward from the spreadsheet and other powerful calculators.

EcosimPro has a free student license called EcosimPro Limited Edition (LE) and another version for the academic world called EcosimPro Educational. Please contact us for more information.

EcosimPro comes with its own professional libraries as well as with a set of simple libraries in different areas that can act as examples for modelling. Many other areas can be modelled, provided that the phenomena to be modelled can be described by differential algebraic equations and discrete events.

Demonstration Libraries

Name Description
DISCRETE_LIB It demonstrates the main concepts and elements of EL which are necessary for modelling discrete events. Although EcosimPro facilitates system modelling with continuous and discrete formulation simultaneously in this library, only those which are characteristic of discrete simulation (the events) are shown.

HYDRAULIC This library illustrates the more advanced concepts and elements of EL which are necessary for modelling hydraulic systems. It particularly demonstrates the definition of a hydraulic port, the generation of hydraulic systems by inheritance, and the inclusion of components from other libraries by the definition of control systems for hydraulic systems.
