HYDRAULIC library
General description
The purpose of this library is to demonstrate how hydraulic systems are modelled using basic elements comprising said systems.
For this library we have developed a port for water flows and the components that represent a few characteristic elements of these systems: pipes, tanks, valves,...
Palette of symbols
Ports description
- Hydraulic: This port type represents a hydraulic flow connection.
Components description
- HydFlowMeter: Water flow meter.
- HydPipe: Pipe for water flow.
- HydPressureMeter: Water pressure meter.
- HydTank: Tank for water.
- HydTemperatureMeter: Water temperature meter.
- HydValve: Valve for water flow.
Hydraulic example
hydro_circuit3
This model represents a hydraulic circuit with a flow control system comprising a water mass flow meter, a PID controller and a valve.
For this example, an "exp1" experiment has been created consisting in a 50 second integration for the initial condition in which the level in the left-hand tank is 3 metres, while in the right-hand tank it is only 1 metre, and the water mass flow is forced by the control system to be 25 kilogrammes per second.
The graphs illustrate the water flow obtained and the valve aperture fixed by the controller, and particularly how as of second 34 with the pressure difference between both tanks a 25 kilogramme per second flow is no longer generated, not even with the valve completely open.
