Example: Solar plant with supply from the accumulators

This model represents solar plant operation with supply to the cycle from the accumulators, whose controllers maintain the power at 50% by successively positioning the associated outlet valves.

The first accumulator supplies flow to the condensate storage tank and when they are in operation the remaining accumulators supply flow from the outlet of heater "H3" to the previous accumulator, ie the one no longer in operation.

The last accumulator is filled from the condensate storage tank as soon as it stops supplying flow to the cycle.

Closed accumulators discharge example for the THERMAL_BALANCE library

Flow supply is carried out sequentially. The first accumulator enters into operation and fills the condensate storage tank.

The cycle is maintained at 50% and when the accumulator cannot maintain the pressure, the second accumulator enters into operation and supplies flow from the cycle at the outlet of "H3" to the previous accumulator (in this case the first accumulator) until it is full, the pressure rises to approximately 22 psia and the steam quality to 0.00237.

The controllers keep the cycle at 50% power until the flow supply to the last accumulator finishes and it is then filled from the condensate storage tank at which point the cycle is supplied from the receiver if it is operating.

The following plots illustrate the evolution of the operating pressure in the accumulators, the inlet pressures to the turbine stages, the inlet pressure to the cycle, the cycle power, and the position of the accumulator outlet valves towards the cycle.
