February 15th, 2007: EcosimPro version 4.0 released.
EA Internacional officially releases EcosimPro version 4.0.
With a new redesigned interface, more intuitive and easier to use, completely integrated (code edition, graphical generation of models and simulation), with many new EL language capabilities such as definition of classes and use of C++ classes as external objects, new statements to aid steady modelling as well as faster transient models, better debugging information through HTML files and a new plugin structure to connect external tools for particular purposes. In this version, a Deck generator tool has been included using this plugin structure to generate graphical standalone applications based on experiments to allow third parties (partners, customers, clients...) to simulate EcosimPro models by their own even if they haven't Ecosimpro installed in their computers.
January 8th, 2007: EcosimPro problems report system opened to users.
EcosimPro will begin to use a public SPRS (Software Problem Report System) to manage users' problems reports and enhancements proposals. It is available all around the world through the http://sprs.ecosimpro.com web site. Additionally, a direct link has been included within the "Support" index menu of this site called "Report a problem".
2006
November 10th, 2006: Presentation of SMART-1 Electric Propulsion System results at SESP 2006.
SMART-1 Electric Propulsion System has been modelled successfully with EcosimPro, and simulation results has been presented during the "9th International Workshop on Simulation for European Space Programmes" (SESP 2006).
September 4th, 2006: Internal release of EcosimPro 4.0 (Beta version).
The latest version of EcosimPro, EcosimPro 4.0 Beta, has been released today for beta-testers final testing. Official release is expected at the beginning of next year.
March 30th, 2006: EcosimPro version 3.4 Service Pack 2 released.
EA Internacional officially releases EcosimPro version 3.4 Service Pack 2, which solves some minor problems detected by users. It is available for download at this site.
February 6th, 2006: Internal release of EcosimPro 4.0 (Alpha version).
The latest version of EcosimPro, EcosimPro 4.0 Alpha, has been released today for internal testing.
This is a preliminary version of the upcoming software with many new features. A complete new graphical user interface featuring EcoStudio, EcoDiagram, and EcoMonitor integrated into a single application. In the near future, this new interface will allow the software to run on multiplatform operating systems. It will include new language capabilities and connection to C++ classes as external objects, some additional improvements has been done for numerical algorithms, automatic generation of HTML documents for debugging purposes,... All previous EcosimPro codes will remain valid in this new version.
First Beta version should be ready for external Beta testers by May 2006.
2005
November 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2005: EcosimPro course at NUCLEONOR (Santander, Spain).
A course on EcosimPro was given to engineers of NUCLEONOR in Santander (Spain) on November 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2005. The purpose of the course was to train them in the fundamentals of EcosimPro and THERMAL2 library for current and future simulation in thermal analyses.
November 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2005: EcosimPro course at Alcatel Alenia Space Italia S.p.A (Torino, Italy).
A course on EcosimPro was given to engineers of Alcatel Alenia Space Italia S.p.A in Torino (Italy) on November 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2005. The purpose of the course was to train them in the use of EcosimPro as an Environmental Control and Life Support Systems and Satellite Propulsion Systems tool for current and future simulation work.
October 13th, 2005: ASML uses EcosimPro to model fluid systems.
The multinational ASML has begun to use EcosimPro and FLUIDA library to simulate complex fluid problems in order to improve the design of their products. Based in the Netherlands, ASML designs semiconductor equipment for producing chips. They are currently working on the next generation of lithography technology.
July 12th, 2005: PETRI project for creation of processing tools is now under way.
A joint project between EA Intenacional, the University of Valladolid, and CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) has begun with the aim of bringing to EcosimPro the tools necessary to model processes. These tools include, among others, a parameter estimation tool, optimisation capabilities, linear analysis of models, and robust process libraries. The first results are expected by late 2006 and during 2007.

March 7th, 2005: EcosimPro version 3.4 released.
EA Internacional officially releases EcosimPro version 3.4. New EL modelling capabilities such as the use of macros, sequential block for the components and Newton-Raphson solver available from the experiment have been included. EcoDiagram has been improved as well, with more robust element editors and more intuitive creation of graphical components.
February 14th, 2005: Successful use of EcosimPro for modelling the ATV.
ALENIA has recently built a model with EcosimPro that simulates the real discharge of gases produced inside the cabin of the Automated Transportation Vehicle by a dedicated Gas Delivery System. The analysis, performed in nominal and contingency scenarios, has confirmed the validity of EcosimPro as a powerful and flexible tool for solving complex problems with high non-linearity indices. The ATV is scheduled to be launched in 2006 and forms part of the International Space Station project.
January 12th, 2005: The European Space Agency begins a project to create EcosimPro propulsion libraries.
ESA, EA and some space companies in Europe (EADS, Snecma, Avio,...) begin a project to create a set of standard propulsion libraries in EcosimPro. They will be used as ESA standard libraries to create propulsion models for satellites and Ariane-5 in Europe. Some of these libraries are turbomachinery (inducers, compressors, turbines,...), thermal (heat exchangers,...), tanks (surface tension propellant tanks, diaphragm/bladder tanks,...), fluids (with two phase phenomena), mechanical (shafts, gear boxes, inertia and Spring stiffness,...), etc.
2004
December 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2004: EcosimPro course at ASML (Eindhoven, Holand).
A course on EcosimPro was given to engineers of ASML in Eindhoven (Holand) on December 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2004. The purpose of the course was to train them in the fundamentals of EcosimPro and FLUID library for current and future simulation in fluids systems.
March 12th, 2004: EcosimPro version 3.3 released.
EA Internacional officially releases EcosimPro version 3.3. It contains significant improvements such as a new graphics tool called EcoDiagram to replace SmartSketch, the ability to export models to Microsoft Excel using the mouse, and many more new features.
2003
July 16th, 2003: Presentation of EcosimPro at the ICES conference in Vancouver (Canada).
EcosimPro 3.2 and the ECLSS applications were presented on July 14th, 15th and 16th at the 33rd International Conference on Environmental Systems (ICES). Engineers from ESA, Astrium, NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc. attended this annual conference on environmental control engineering of the International Space Station (ISS). An overview of the main environmental control applications for the ISS made by several European companies (Astrium, Alenia, ESA,...) was presented.
March 26th, 2003: EcosimPro course at Astrium Bremen (Germany).
A course on EcosimPro was given to engineers of Astrium Bremen in Germany on March 24th, 25th and 26th, 2003. The purpose of the course was to train them in the use of EcosimPro as a propulsion and thermal modelling tool for current and future simulation work.
February 25th, 2003: Second EcosimPro users workshop at UNED Madrid (Spain).
On 24th and 25th March, in UNED Madrid (Spain), the second workshop was held for EcosimPro users. Twenty papers were presented on the use of EcosimPro for simulation in a number of fields, including industry process, aerospace, fluids, power plants, optimisation, chemical modelling, etc. There was also a roundtable on future EcosimPro developments during which all users could voice their opinions on potential improvements to the tool. 2002
October 28th, 2002: The European Space Agency selects EcosimPro to model propulsion systems.
The Propulsion and Aerothermodynamics Division of the European Space Agency has chosen EcosimPro for propulsion system study projects. A line of work has been developed with the European space industry in order to create a propulsion components library valid for all. During the following months the scope of the library, its components, physical phenomena to be modelled, etc. will be defined. At present, there is an initial library called PROPSAT, which contains some of the basic components: heat exchangers, valves, tanks, etc.
September 29th, 2002: EcosimPro version 3.2 Service Pack 1 released.
EA Internacional officially releases EcosimPro version 3.2 Service Pack 1. It includes bug-solving features and new capabilities such as cardinality in ports and inheritance in ports. It is available for download at this site.
July 25th, 2002: EcosimPro course at Alenia Torino (Italy).
An EcosimPro course was given to engineers from Alenia at their premises (Torino, Italy) from July 22nd to 25th, 2002. The course covered the modelling of environmental control and life support systems using the ECLSS EcosimPro library.
July 5th, 2002: EcosimPro course at ESA Propulsion Department (Holland).
An EcosimPro course was given to engineers of the European Space Agency in Noorwijk (Holland) on July 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2002. The purpose of the course was to train them in the use of EcosimPro as a propulsion system modelling tool for current and future Agency satellites.
June 3rd, 2002: Presentation of EcosimPro at European Simulation Multiconference.
Version 3.2 of EcosimPro was presented on June 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2002 at the ESM-2002 simulation conference held in Darmstadt (Germany). Simulation engineers from several countries presented diverse projects related to the field of simulation. The conference is organised annually by the Society for Computer Simulation (SCS).
April 6th, 2002: EcosimPro course in Madrid (Spain).
A course on EcosimPro was given from April 4th to 6th, 2002 at the Escuela de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos of the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid (Spain) at which some 30 attendees were given demonstrations of continuous object-oriented system modelling. Among those who attended were final-year aeronautics students, lecturers from other universities and engineers from different technical firms.
February 17th, 2002: EcosimPro version 3.2 released.
EA Internacional officially releases EcosimPro version 3.2. It contains many new improvements such as post-process tool, colour editors, new debugging capabilities for non-convergent problems, etc.
2001
October 17th, 2001: EcosimPro course at SNECMA (France).
October saw a course given at the premises of the French company SNECMA (Vernon, France). The course was attended by a number of engineers involved in the design of different sections for Ariane engines. SNECMA is planning to use EcosimPro to carryout design studies for a variety of rocket engine configurations.
June 25th, 2001: IBERINCO purchases EcosimPro for modelling hydraulic systems.
The Spanish engineering company, IBERINCO, has purchased EcosimPro for the simulation of piping networks carrying fluids mainly in electricity generating plants.
May 4th, 2001: First EcosimPro user workshop at UNED Madrid (Spain).
On May 3rd and 4th, in UNED Madrid (Spain), the first workshop was held for EcosimPro users. April 17th, 2001: CERN purchases EcosimPro for Cryogenic Modelling.
The CERN research centre (Geneva, Switzerland) has acquired a number of EcosimPro licenses to develop models of helium liquefaction systems (cryogenic modelling).
March 23rd, 2001: EcosimPro at the Spanish Simulation Conference in Barcelona.
During a two-day workshop (March 22ndh and 23rd) at the Universidad Autónoma in Barcelona, an EcosimPro users meeting was held.
March 1st, 2001: EcosimPro courses in Madrid.
Two EcosimPro courses were given at the ETS de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos of the Universidad Politécnica and the ETS Ingenieros Industriales of the ICAI in Madrid at which some 80 attendees were given demonstrations of continuous object-oriented system modelling.

December 15th, 2000: EcosimPro version 3.1 released.
EA Internacional officially releases EcosimPro version 3.1.
December 2nd, 2000: CASA Espacio (Astrium Spain) purchased EcosimPro for modelling space applications.
The Spanish engineering firm CASA Espacio (now called Astrium Spain) bought EcosimPro for modelling thermal, control,... systems. They intend to use it for several space projects.
November 8th, 2000: Presentation of EcosimPro at the 14th Thermal and ECLSS Simulation Software workshop.
EcosimPro was presented at the 14th Thermal and ECLSS Simulation Software workshop on November 7th an 8th at the European Space Agency in ESTEC (Holland). A demonstration of how to model some typical thermal cases was given to around 60 specialised engineers who attended from all over Europe.
October 27th, 2000: Alenia purchased EcosimPro for ECLSS models.
The Italian firm Alenia bought EcosimPro for use in modelling environmental control and life support systems in the International Space Station.
October 20th, 2000: Presentation of EcosimPro in several Spanish cities.
The Spanish distributor of EcosimPro ADDLINK organized several presentations during October in several Spanish towns: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla and Bilbao. More than 250 people from different companies and universities attended the events.
October 12th, 2000: Presentation of EcosimPro at the 6th International Workshop on Simulation for European Space Programmes.
EcosimPro was presented from October 10th to 12th at the 6th Workshop on Simulation for European Space Programmes at the European Space Agency in ESTEC (Holland). Several presentations and demos were given at EA's stand to engineers who attended the conference from all over Europe.
July 12th, 2000: Presentation of EcosimPro in Toulouse (France).
EcosimPro 3.0 was presented at the 30th International Conference on Environmental Systems (ICES) and 7th European Symposium on Space Environmental Control Systems. Engineers from ESA, Astrium, NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc. attended this annual conference on environmental control engineering of the International Space Station. The first EcosimPro library (ECLSS) is purpose-built for this type of simulation.
July 4th, 2000: Presentation of EcosimPro in Madrid (Spain).
EcosimPro was presented on July 4th at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (Spain). Organized by ADDLINK, more than 30 people from different companies and universities attended the event. The general make-up of the tool was explained during the first half of the program while the second half was dedicated to demonstrations of its application in different fields: hydraulic, thermal, chemical, control, etc.
June 13th, 2000: Agreement with ADDLINK for the distribution of EcosimPro in Spain and Portugal.
An agreement was signed with the technical software distribution company ADDLINK Scientific Software to commercialise EcosimPro in Spain and Portugal. The agreement came into effect on July 1st.
June 9th, 2000: ITP purchased EcosimPro for its propulsion models.
The Spanish engineering firm ITP (Industria de Turbo Propulsores) bought several EcosimPro licenses for use in modelling its propulsion systems.
May 25th, 2000: EcosimPro course in NASA-MSFC (Huntsville, AL, USA).
An EcosimPro course from May 22nd to 25th was given to 14 engineers from NASA, ION and Boeing at NASA's premises (Huntsville, AL, USA). The course covered the modelling of environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS) using the EcosimPro library.
April 24th, 2000: Presentation of EcosimPro at the MIT (Cambridge, MA, USA).
A presentation was given at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Aeronautical Engineers in Cambridge, MA. It was attended by lecturers and students interested in the simulation of aviation systems, gas turbines, rocket propulsion, etc.
April 20th, 2000: Presentation of EcosimPro in Washington.
EA Internacional officially presented EcosimPro 3.0 at the 2000 Advanced Simulation Technology Conference (ASTC) organized by the Society for Computing Simulation (SCS). Numerous presentations and demos were given at EA's stand to engineers who attended the conference from all over the world.

February 25th, 2000: EcosimPro course in Barcelona (Spain).
As part of a seminar on object-oriented simulation and modelling, a course was given on the use of EcosimPro at the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona (Spain). The course consisted of practical sessions based on the theory taught during the mornings. Those who attended were able to see for themselves the advantages of this continuous system modelling technique. Simulation demonstrations covered chemical, thermal, etc.
February 24th, 2000: NASA buys EcosimPro for ECLSS modelling.
NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (Huntsville, AL, USA) and ION bought EcosimPro to simulate processes in the International Space Station (ISS).
January 13th, 2000: EcosimPro course in ESTEC (Holland).
An EcosimPro course from January 11th to 13th was given at the European Space Agency in Noordwijk (Holland ). A total of 16 engineers attended, both from ESA and other European aerospace companies.
1999
December 1st, 1999: First commercial release of EcosimPro.
