POWER PLANTS

Everyone knows the importance that energy production has in the world and how useful it is to have simulation tools to carry out thermodynamic studies and thus be able to solve different problems that arise.

EcosimPro has a set of libraries which contains the components necessary to carry out these balances. These libraries constitute a very powerful tool for modelling the conventional systems of a thermal cycle in fossil-fired, nuclear, cogeneration, combined cycle power plants, etc.

Thanks to the multidisciplinary capability of EcosimPro, it is easy to connect components from the hydraulic, thermodynamic, control and other libraries. In this way, the diagrams of the models which are created are similar to those of the plant, which makes it easy to identify any part of the model.

Libraries

FLUIDAPRO

The FLUIDAPRO library is designed to dynamically simulate fluid systems. Complex fluid systems where heat transfer is coupled with control could be easily evaluated with this library. Some of the most important features of the library are: gas, liquid and two-phase flow regimes, reverse flow and calculation of concentrated (valves) and distributed (pipes) pressure losses.

PIPELIQTRAN

The purpose of the PIPELIQTRAN Library is to simulate hydraulic transients in hydraulic systems of industrial plants. Some possible applications of this library are: valve waterhammer, pipe filling waterhammer and transient conditions caused by various pump operations.

THERMAL_BALANCE

The THERMAL_BALANCE library is used to carry out steady state thermal balance studies in typical power generating plants (water-steam, cogeneration, etc).

This library contains a wide range of ready-modelled components which cover all needs to model these types of systems; ie, pumps, compressors, valves, pipes, motors, heat exchangers, condensers, turbines, evaporators, electric generators, cooling towers, etc.

The library is prepared to work not only with water, but also with air, oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, helium, argon, methane, propane, butane and sulphur dioxide. Users will also find it easy to add new fluids.
