About EA Internacional
The architect-engineering organisation Empresarios Agrupados, A.I.E. (EA) was founded in 1971 to support the launching of an ambitious nuclear power generation programmes. It was established as an operationally independent group to focus and channel the work and resources of three engineering companies interested in qualifying for designing and managing projects in the field of nuclear energy.
Initially its activities were primarily focused on nuclear and fossil-fired power plant engineering and design, including all the services required to implement these types of projects. EA has been involved in many nuclear power plant projects all over the world and the experience gained in these projects, however, has allowed the company to diversify into other industrial sectors such as aerospace, defence, simulation and communications. Today EA is ranked among the Top 200 International Design Firms of the world by the American magazine Engineering News Record (ENR).
Overall management of EA’s activities is entrusted to an economic interest grouping, Empresarios Agrupados, A.I.E. (EA) For work on projects abroad, a public limited company was set up in 1992, Empresarios Agrupados Internacional, S.A. (EAI).
The current participation of the shareholders both in EA and EAI is the following: Técnicas Reunidas, S.A.: 34.4%, Técnicas Reunidas Proyectos Internacionales, S.A (TRPI): 8.6%, GHESA Ingeniería y Tecnología, S.A.: 34.4%, Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción S.A.U.: 11.3%; and SOCOIN Ingeniería y Construcción Industrial S.L.U.: 11.3%. Técnicas Reunidas and Iberdrola are ranked among the Top 225 International Contractors.
EA provides engineering services to its clients making use of the manpower resources of one or more of its shareholder companies, depending on the needs of each specific project undertaken. As a whole, the shareholders of EA/EAI have a staff of over 6,000 of which about 1,000 are assigned on a permanent basis to EA/EAI for use in its own projects.
The EA Simulation Department has vast experience in simulation (more than 30 years) and has worked in a wide range of engineering fields. This experience includes simulation from both the user's and the developer's points of view. Besides EcosimPro and PROOSIS, EA Internacional has developed many industrial software tools, including:
